Your privacy, kept on ice
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Snowmen are famously tight-lipped, and so is our database. This page lays out exactly which details reach us, what each one is for, and how to see, fix or erase yours. One promise up top: we never sell or rent personal information. Not ever, not for any price.
What lands in our snowdrift
- Placing an order. Name, email, phone, the address the parcel goes to, the items and prices in the cart, and which way you chose to pay.
- Opening an account. Email, a name only if you want one, and a password. Passwords are saved as a one-way hash, so nobody here can read them back.
- Chat with a human ☃️ (chat). Whatever you type into the chat window, plus any contact detail you volunteer.
- Reviews and photos. Your post, the display name on it, an email if you add one, the star rating and any picture you attach. Nothing appears publicly until a person on our team approves it.
- Snowball Rewards. Your referral code, which paid orders were credited to you, and the payout info you supply (a Bitcoin or Monero address, a Cash App or Venmo handle, or a mailing address for cash in the mail).
- Behind the scenes. Your IP address is checked for a short time to slow down rapid-fire login or sign-up attempts and other abuse, and it may be written to server logs.
Cookies: just one small snowball
- The session cookie is a single first-party cookie. It holds your cart, keeps you signed in, keeps the chat thread going and remembers a referral code from the link you came in on, for up to 30 days. The store breaks without it, so it can’t be switched off.
- Visit statistics. We use an analytics provider to count visits and see which pages people like. It sets cookies of its own. It is never loaded on cart, checkout, order, account, rewards-dashboard or chat pages.
- Ads. We don’t run ads today. If that ever changes, ads would appear only on public pages, the ad network could use cookies to choose and measure them, you could opt out of personalization in that network’s settings, and the same private pages listed above would stay ad-free.
How payments are handled
We don’t take cards or bank transfers, so no card number ever reaches us. We accept credit and debit cards, bank payments, Venmo, Cash App, Bitcoin and Monero, and we keep only what’s needed to match a payment to its order, such as the amount and the crypto address generated for that order.
The short list of helpers who see anything
- The delivery carrier, which needs a name and address to get the box to you.
- An address-verification service that checks the shipping address is real before an order ships.
- Our email provider, which sends order, sign-in and support emails for us.
- Our analytics provider (and an ad network, if we ever add one), as described above.
Nobody else gets your information unless the law requires it.
Emails we send
Order updates, account messages such as sign-in codes, and replies to questions you’ve sent us. That’s it.
Keeping, fixing and deleting
Order records stay on file for as long as the business needs them. Want a copy of what we hold, a correction, or your account and personal details deleted? Email [email protected] from the address you used with us and we’ll take care of it. The only exception is anything we’re legally required to keep, such as basic sales records.
Grown-ups only
Snowman Research is for adults 21 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
When this page changes
We’ll post the new version here and change the date at the top. Questions? Email [email protected] or tap Chat with a human ☃️. Our terms of service cover the rest of the rules.
