The scoop
Each vial contains 20 mg of lyophilized retatrutide. Retatrutide is studied as a triple agonist of the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors, and it ships here as a sealed lyophilized powder vial. The retatrutide family page has the other sizes. Research use only: not an approved medicine and never for human use.
Sizing up the 20mg vial
The 20mg vial sits at rung 4 of 7 in our Retatrutide lineup, somewhere between the 5mg and 60mg fills. Its 20 mg of freeze-dried powder costs $75.00, or $3.75 per mg: 46% less per mg than the 5mg vial, and 13% more per mg than the 60mg vial.
One size down, the 15mg vial holds 5 mg less and costs $15.00 less. One size up, the 30mg vial adds 10 mg for $35.00 more, so each extra milligram costs $3.50. Per milligram, the 30mg vial comes in at $3.67, versus $3.75 here. Stacking 4 of the 5mg vials would give you the same 20 mg as this one vial: $140.00 at single-vial prices, versus $75.00 here.

Retatrutide triple agonist peptide: a research overview
Retatrutide, a GIP/GLP-1/glucagon triple agonist (this listing is a retatrutide lyophilized powder vial), has become one of the most closely watched investigational molecules in metabolic research. Here's an unhurried overview of the trials published so far.
Please note: Snowman Research does not offer dosing information or usage guidance of any kind. Everything we list, this item included, is sold strictly for research purposes and nothing else.
Published findings
Retatrutide's literature is built on randomized human trials. A 2023 phase 2 study in The New England Journal of Medicine enrolled 338 adults with obesity; after 48 weeks, average weight change was −24.2% in the top-dose arm and −2.1% with placebo. Gastrointestinal effects were most frequent and rose with dose, and heart rate increased early before easing [1]. In September 2026, NEJM published the phase 3 TRIUMPH-1 trial: among 2,339 randomized participants, mean weight change reached −25.0% compared with −3.9% on placebo, and the paper also reported knee-osteoarthritis pain and sleep-apnea results in subgroups [2]. The Lancet simultaneously published TRIUMPH-2 in 1,152 adults living with obesity and type 2 diabetes, describing better weight and glucose outcomes and a safety profile in line with other GLP-1-based drugs [3].
Mechanism at a glance
Retatrutide (development code LY3437943) is one peptide that activates three receptors: those for GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon. Researchers call this a triple hormone-receptor agonist, which also makes retatrutide a glucagon receptor agonist in addition to its GIP and GLP-1 activity [1].
Regulatory & WADA notes
Retatrutide has not been approved by the FDA. In the FDA's words, retatrutide “cannot be used in compounding under federal law”; the agency adds that it is not a component of any approved drug and has not been found safe and effective for any condition [4]. It isn't named on WADA's 2026 Prohibited List, but S0 covers drugs in clinical development without current government approval for human therapeutic use [5].
Thanks for reading. Stay warm, and keep your bench notes tidy.
