The scoop
Each vial contains 5 mg of lyophilized tirzepatide. Tirzepatide is a dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist, supplied as a powder cake under a sealed cap. Want another size? The tirzepatide family page lists all eight fills. Laboratory research only, adults 21+, never for people or pets. Stay frosty.
Sizing up the 5mg vial
The 5mg vial is the smallest Tirzepatide fill on our shelf: 5 mg of freeze-dried powder for $25.00, which works out to $5.00 per mg. Think of it as the snowball before the snowman, the lowest-cost way to get Tirzepatide onto the bench. The bigger siblings bring the per-mg price down, all the way to $2.00 on the 120mg vial (60% less per mg than here).
One size up, the 10mg vial adds 5 mg for $10.00 more, so each extra milligram costs $2.00. Per milligram, the 10mg vial comes in at $3.50, versus $5.00 here. It takes 24 of these 5mg vials to match the 120 mg in one 120mg vial: $600.00 at single-vial prices, versus $240.00 for the big one.

Tirzepatide GIP/GLP-1 dual agonist research peptide: an overview
Tirzepatide opened a new chapter in incretin research by engaging two receptors at once; it is supplied here as tirzepatide lyophilized powder for laboratory study. Here's a calm look at the headline studies.
Please note: Snowman Research does not offer dosing information or usage guidance of any kind. Everything we list, this item included, is sold strictly for research purposes and nothing else.
Published findings
Tirzepatide has been tested in large randomized human trials. The 72-week SURMOUNT-1 study (NEJM, 2022) in adults with obesity reported average weight changes between −15.0% and −20.9% depending on dose level, compared with −3.1% for placebo [1]. SURPASS-2 (NEJM, 2021) compared tirzepatide head-to-head with semaglutide in type 2 diabetes and found it noninferior and superior for lowering glycated hemoglobin over 40 weeks [2]. In SURMOUNT-OSA (NEJM, 2024), people with obesity and moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea saw their apnea-hypopnea index drop by roughly 25 to 29 events per hour at one year, against about 5 with placebo [3].
Mechanism at a glance
Tirzepatide is a single peptide that activates both the glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor and the GLP-1 receptor, two hormones released from the intestine. That makes it a dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist [4].
Regulatory & WADA notes
The FDA has approved tirzepatide for blood-sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes and, on November 8, 2023, for chronic weight management [4]. This research material is separate from those approved medicines. Tirzepatide isn't on WADA's 2026 Prohibited List, though WADA's 2026 Monitoring Program follows markers of semaglutide and tirzepatide [5].
